Brainstorming for Photoshoot Locations

17 Jun

In about another 5 weeks or so, we will be having our first pre-wedding photoshoot, by Oh, Dear! Photography. Hence, the past few weekends were spent driving around to get some ideas for the locations hah. In the 3-hour photoshoot, we will be having two locations. As one of our favourite pastimes is “fooding around” (I quote Dr Jia Jia, the Singlish Minister hah), we are thinking of having some “food” theme in our casual photoshoot with Oh, Dear!.

To have both nature and civilisation, we decided to go for a “picnic on green pasture” and “chilling in a cafe” hah. For picnic photoshoot, the location is pretty easy. Singapore Botanic Gardens can do the job! As for cafe, we initially thought of some cafes in Ann Siang Hill or Duxton Hill area, so that we can take some shophouses snapshots too hah. But didnt really find any cafe that we really like. We also went to robertson quay area in search for cafes. Personally I pretty like Five and Dime, which is along River Valley Road. We also checked out Wessex Estate, which has the famous Colbar, and also the Laurent’s Cafe and Chocolate Bar. A bonus is that the area is suitable for picnic shots too, and we could have saved one location hah. Another location that we considered was Kombi Rocks, which is a very vintage restaurant and is well-known for having iconic volkswagon camper vans and beetles parked outside.

Hunting for casual photoshoot locations

In the end, we kind of decided on Starbucks at Rochester Park. This place was discovered accidentally when we were in that area for brunch one day. We didnt even know there is this Starbucks housed in the nice black-and-white, double storey-colonial building! Besides this, we are also thinking of getting some shots at Food for Thought in the Botanic Gardens, since we will be there for our picnic shoot.

So next steps for us will be to email Starbucks and Food for Thought to check if they are okay with us having a casual photoshoot session at their premises!

Also, we are also having headache over what props to bring, and what to wear, for this upcoming photoshoot!

Hello Shuyi, yes we did 🙂

For our casual photoshoot, we went to Botanic Gardens (the greens and the cafe Food for Thought) and Starbucks @ Rochester. For our formal photoshoot, we had it at Chijmes, Marina Barrage and shophouses at Kampong Bahru.

      Thanks for visiting my blog!
