Tiring but Fun Photoshoot!

22 Jul

Today is finally the day for our casual pre-wedding photoshoot with Oh, Dear! The day has finally come hah. As the weather was pretty erratic lately, was pretty worried about wet weather. Thankfully, it was a bright and sunny sunday morning today!

Our photoshoot was at 8.30am to 11.30am, hence we got to wake up really early! I reached dear’s house at about 6.15am and then headed to Cindy’s home in Sembawang. Many thanks to Cindy for helping dear with her make-up (dear knows nuts about make-up hah. Oops) and simple hairdo. By the time it was done, it was about 8.15am and it was a mad rush from Sembawang to Botanic Gardens. We were late for about 10 minutes, not too bad already hah.

We started our photoshoot amidst the lush green in Botanic Gardens. With our loads of barang barang of props and stuff, I was already perspiring like mad when we reached the picnic area hah. My heat tolerance level was damn low and while they were setting up the picnic area, I was busy drying myself with hankie and wet tissue, and trying to cool myself down. After all was done, the photoshoot began!

Melody, the photographer, was friendly and nice, made us pretty comfortable with her. And with 3-year experience under her belt, she had lots of suggestions for poses. After we were done with the picnic “scene”, we moved on to a couple of other spots in Botanic Gardens for more shots. As time passed, we got more comfortable and more natural I guess. But it was quite challenging for me to be all happy and loving when I was actually very hot and sticky hah.

Before we moved off to our second location, we had some shots at the Food for Thought cafe too! I like cafe-feel pictures hah.

After Botanic Gardens, we headed to the Starbucks at Rochester Park. We love the colonial style building that Starbucks was in. After ordering a drink, Melody started snapping away! This Starbucks was very nice, and in fact it doesnt actually feel and look like a typical Starbucks. We also take some shots with the black and white facade to round up the whole 3-hour session.

It was pretty tiring but I gues it was quite fun and enjoyable! We will need to wait for two weeks for Melody to edit 60 of the best shots, and to return to us all the photos taken in high-resolution in soft copy. Looking forward! Hopefully they will turn out nice hah.

Plesantly surprised that she posted sneak peek of 2 pictures within hours of the photoshoot! Looks nice!

    Hi Kai Xiang,

I love your pictures (the sneak peak)! They’re so cute and lovely! Especially the one at Starbucks at Rochester Park.

Just wondering, did you just pop into the cafe or you had to seek permission in advance for the opportunity to snap there?

      Hi SK,

      Thanks for the compliments!

We did not have any prior permission for the photoshoot at Starbucks. They also did not make any fuss, probably as we were not disturbing other customers 🙂

Unless you are going there in full wedding gown/ suit and with a big entourage of photographers and helpers etc, if not I believe it should be fine hah.

Hello, we paid $680 for the casual photoshoot that time. I believe rate should have been adjusted already though. Happy planning!
